Staying true to this week's booze hotel theme, let's chat about the Capofaro Malvasia Resort on the north coast of Salina.

The Aeolian Islands (north of Sicily) are not the easiest archipelago to get to, but once there you will soon find out the region is famous for its sweet Malvasia wine.

Capofaro consists of seven flat roofed, stucco walled cottages housing eighteen guest rooms.  Each room looks across the vineyards to the Mediterranean Sea.

The island is laid back, sparsely populated, and lightly visited.

If you are headed to Salina, remember, we hear there is no public transportation to the Aeolian Islands after 7:30 pm, so check the ferry schedule closely.

What we really want is someone to drink enough sweet wine to miss their ferry and have to take advantage of the Capofaro Resort's helicopter service in order to make their international flight on time.  Now if that happens, you have to let us know.
