The Samoset Resort in Rockport Maine is running a $119 rate (meals included) if you travel Sunday through Thursday, now through August 31.

Sure, sure, some people find the Samoset a bit stuffy, but it is, without a doubt, an incredibly gorgeous, 230 oceanside acre setting, that is perfect for exploring Downeast Maine. Throw in the fact that this deal runs in August, which is hands down the best month to journey to the Pine Tree State, and our interest is sufficiently piqued.

Besides, at that rate, if you see too many MA, NY, & CT license plates in the parking lot you can always find a classic Maine motel "up the road." We kid, we kid--our license plate is from one of "those" states. However, we know how Maine folks get about "Summa People."
