Some interesting Redwood City, CA hotel photos showed up on Satan's Laundromat this week.

The photo to the right is of Hotel Sequoia.

A little history:

During the 1906 earthquake the best hotel in town (Redwood City) had been destroyed. The town went without first-class lodging for 6 years, until the Sequoia Hotel was built in 1912. Every room had a bath with hot and cold water, quite an extravagance for that time. In 1928, President Herbert Hoover stayed there when he visited Redwood City to ride in the 4th of July Parade.

Now a days, the best we can tell, you can rent a room at Hotel Sequoia for $140 per week.

Warm smell of colitas...rising up through the air.
