The Seahorse Resort in Vietnam is an out-of-the-way destination with no reviews listed on TripAdvisor but these comprehensive Flickr shots show a pretty amazing resort from the inside-out.

Fish sauce and paradise

[Publisher's Note: Hotel Maven KevinS just quit his day job and is preparing to travel around the world Phileas Fogg style. Actually he just bought one of those RTW tickets and he tells us his trek will probably be more like 180 days, but the devil is in the details, right? In any event KevinS is sharing an old Vietnam trip with us in order to get his groove back. Hopefully we will here from him as he tours the globe. Enjoy.]

Vietnam is quickly becoming a must-see destination for those looking for the unspoiled or untouched feel. The main cities such as Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), Hanoi, Nha Trang, etc. are bustling cities and resort towns that are used to tourism. It's some of the smaller towns in between that can be the real gems.

I give you Phan Thiet. Famous for nuoc mam (aka fish sauce) production, Phan Thiet is a quiet beach town roughly 200 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. Don't look for big night life here, just relaxation. That's where the Saigon Mui Ne Hotel comes in. The sign lists it as a 3-star resort, but it felt like paradise to me.
