Once again, Jet Set Life's Kimberly Murgatroyd returns with another VIP Hotel Review. You may recall her last visit at the Don Carlos Resort in Marbella. This time she's chillaxing in Mykonos at The Belvedere Hotel. Enjoy.

Some jet-set destinations come and go, but Mykonos has actually been an island getaway dating back to the 11th century BC. This island is so sexy that even Zeus fought over it! Enough history, let's get to the good stuff.

My husband and I did a two week stint for our yearly honeymoon during mid-July when the season, which in my opinion, is perfect. The weather is warm, yet not humid. The island is crawling with a mix of weekend visiting Athenians and the beautiful Italians.

For those in the know,The Belvedere Hotel is the only hotel on the island that delivers the kind of service, vibe and consistently chic attitude that you want from your Greek island getaway.

Mykonos: Magical or Mediocre at the Santa Marina?

Go To The Hotel's Web

While it might belong to something as massive sounding as the Starwood Hotels chain, the Santa Marina on Mykonos, Greece, takes great pains to point out that it's not big. And that's why, they say, service is personalized, professional, and (if you believe the blurb) practically perfect.

Well, they do have a private helicopter and a speedboat just for the use of guests, not a claim that every resort can make. They also have their own (organic) farm, a private beach, and a floodlit tennis court: coach available on request.

But while this all sounds gorgeous, most of the feedback from recent guests is that the Santa Marina is good, but just not great. The staff are friendly and the views are perfect--but perhaps the natural beauty of the Greek islands is more responsible for this than the hotel itself. Problems include mediocre food in the restaurants (perhaps organic doesn't always equate to delicious), some moments of slow service, and a few people have had more troubles when they visit in the off-season. But on the other hand, it's Mykonos. It'll always be beautiful and people will always go there.

Tara on the Apanema in Mykonos

According to Tara Reid this hotel is:

Absolutely incredible.

We agree, but let us help her elaborate a bit.

The Apanema Resort is a slick little island resort with great food, great service, and big rooms--at least by Mykonos standards.

There is an infinity pool and an overwhelming sense of calm at this resort, even though you are just a short walk from town.

Oh, and Kriton, the guy who was constantly hitting on Tara, owns the joint.

Hotel: Apanema Resort
Location: Mykonos, Greece
Name: Kriton Harakopoulos
Division: Male

Last night, on E!, Tara Reid nominated this Greek hotelier, saying:

He showed us things no one else would know, or where to go , or what to do...and he is hot.

Yes, hoteliers are fair game for this contest, just like anyone who works for a hotel--no matter what the capacity.

Nominate someone now.
