Room with a Killer View: Alexandra Hotel

We are suckers for a room with a killer view.  We find that we are even more likely to forgive some minor hotel inconveniences if we can stare out the window at something pretty--yeah we are that shallow. There's something about this view of the English Channel that calms us as we are in the midst of holiday shopping hell. It was taken from a room at the Alexandra Hotel in Dorset which has been a hotel for 100+ years but before that was a private home built in 1735 for a dowager. Although, we're sure this view doesn't look this pretty year-round so visit during the summer and early fall.
