Nasty new trend: Hotel Robberies

November 30, 2004 at 4:43 PM | by | ()

A bevy of hotel robberies in the Lancaster, PA area has put hotel managers on alert.  This past weekend several hotels were hit.

At the Westfield Inn in East Hempfield, a robber posed as a customer.  At a nearby Hilton the perp jumped on a counter waving a silver handgun and demanding money.

Police are warning area hotels to be on the alert.

Here is probably an oversimplified solution, but we will offer it up anyway.  Don't hold any cash behind the counter.  Most hotel transactions are done with credit cards anyway, so it shouldn't be that difficult to rid the front desk of their cash...that should stop these hoodlums.
