Often overlooked by Americans, the coast of Portugal typically plays host to many sun-searching Europeans. Sure, go ahead and think sunburned Germans in banana hammocks. But, we're not saying that.

However one hotel, The Boca do Rio Resort in the Algarve region of the country should speak to the more curious American tourist with its modern design, totally green approach - that means environmentally aware -and its clientele of mostly Portuguese vacationers. Oh and did we mention its only 50 euro (approx. 86 dollars) a night! Now the curious and thrifty Americans can flock to, and ruin, this local hang without breaking the bank.
