Ko Samui Travel Guide
We might be stuck at home this week, but that doesn't stop friends of HotelChatter from traveling, and friends Clare and Rick have been soaking up sunshine and saltwater on the idyllic Thai island of Ko Samui. Having got a tip on the Tongsai Bay Cottages and Hotel, they don't seem to be regretting booking in here at all:
We flew in on Wednesday and have already made ourselves at home ... which isn't hard when you're staying at a place like Tongsai Bay. This resort came highly recommended and after only two nights I can appreciate why. For my part this is the nicest place I've ever stayed. Tongsai Bay is gorgeous; so much so that I want to live here! We have a beautiful freshly renovated sea view cottage (a split level bedroom, bathroom, living room, balcony set-up). The resort itself is nestled on the side of a fairly steep hill overlooking a pretty little private beach. It's located just far enough away from the really big resort area of Chewang Beach but close enough by taxi for dinner and shopping trips.
And when we remember that these guys are pretty avid travelers, we can be sure their tip's worth taking note of. Tongsai Bay has 83 cottages and rooms and is (not surprisingly) a common honeymoon destination. Service standards match the great location, and TripAdvisor reviewers rate it the second best on Ko Samui out of over 150 places to stay. You can believe them or believe Clare and Rick, but either way it sounds like a good place to relax and rejuvenate.
