Ko Lanta Travel Guide
We are suckers for a room with a killer view. We find that we are even more likely to forgive some minor hotel inconveniences if we can stare out the window at something pretty--yeah we are that shallow. Let's help out our fellow hotel mavens by uploading rooms with killer views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. We will feature our favorites in this space from time to time. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number of the hot view.
Sticking with the Ko Lanta theme...
This place offers gorgeous little bungalows right on the beach in Ko Lanta for around $100 a night. Sounds a lot like Jack's Thai digs on Lost last night, but we doubt Bai Ling will crawl on top of you at night if you stay here. On the bright side, you probably won't get beat up by the locals for getting a sacred mark. Either way you will be afforded an amazing sunset view in these beachfront bungalows.
Ko Lanta was one of those quickly developing Thai islands until last years tragic tsunami wiped away most of the construction.
The Thai people, and opportunistic developers have been rebuilding this island for the better part of a year, and Costa Lanta is one of the cool re-opened resorts.
We briefly mentioned Costa Lanta late last month, but this property deserves a closer look.
The 22 open-box style bungalows are minimalist luxury. What does that mean? A bed, a mosquito net, air conditioning, an indoor/outdoor bath, and direct access to the beach.
The property also boasts a beach front restaurant, and your hosts will transfer you to and from the airport via speedboat. Decandent.
