You Can't Handle The Floral: Laura Ashley To Open A Hotel Near London

The number of times our mother dragged us through a Laura Ashley store against our will must have had some sort of impact on us, because when we first read in The Guardian that the company would be launching their first-ever branded hotel later this year, we actually sat up and listened.
Then we remembered how much floral pattern bedding makes us want to jump off a balcony. Still, we know there are quite a few of you out there who would genuinely have an interest in staying here.
Enough people, at least, to warrant the brand spending £5.8 million on the refurbishment (read: Laura Ashley-ization) of a 49-room hotel in Hertfordshire, which will become yet another themed fashion hotel in the vein of Bulgari or Armani. Except in this case, rather than looking like a mental hospital, its floral-pattern-overload might drive some to check into one.

At Least This Hotel Seems to Have Forgiven Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods may have lost a few sponsorships and fans after his whole cheating scandal (not to mention a wife!) but he's still got a few people in his corner, including a hotel.
At the five-star Grove resort in Hertfordshire (sister hotel to London's Athenaeum), golf fanatics can visit the site of Tiger Woods' 2006 World Golf Championship victory. And they can even attempt to re-create the exact same shot that scored Tiger his winning "eagle."
The hotel, which maintains a championship-quality course, has installed three plaques in the lawn near to what is now the ninth hole of the course (when Tiger played in 2006, it was the final eighteenth hole). Simply locate the plaques, and try to pull off the same trick that Tiger managed not once, not twice—but three days in a row. The pressure is on!
