Grand Vista, not so grand

"The Grand Vista Hotel is a six story luxury high-rise with a wonderful view from each room."

So says the properties website, however one HotelChatter reader disagrees, saying:

This hotel has a 3-star rating, but has one-star accommodation. Room was dirty, floors were not vacuumed, toilets were not cleaned, sheets were old and worn and dirty and there was no coffee or condiments to go with the coffee maker. Overall, a horrible experience.

Here is the deal:  Once in a while a hotel can effectively pull a bait and switch, showing you flashy photos on their website, but not delivering the goods.  This is not the case with the Grand Vista.  One brief visit to the website and you might deduce that this property may not be up to snuff.  

This reader seems to confirm that the Grand Vista is a bit, um, lacking, for a three star place.  The lesson?  If the website looks second rate put a giant question mark next to the hotel and keep looking.  The website isn't the be all and end all, but it can provide a decent clue.
