They say Germans are perfectionists but hey, so are we when it comes to hotels.

We completely agree with this fellow Deutschlander when it comes to his hotel experience at the Best Western Hotel Diplomate in Geneva. The thing is, if a hotel is in Geneva, how hard can it be to be good? The country is full of money, great bread and chocolate, and cute citizens. Yet, none of these things are to be found at the Best Western:

The room was dirty verging on filthy, the bath was even worse. The shower broke when I tried to use it.

TV did not work - at first the remote was broken. 3 remotes later, I found that there is no sound on this set. The replacement they brought was tiny - but hey, there were no international channels worth mentioning available anyway.

Breakfast was a joke (stale croissants and some jam), coffee was the worst I ever had in Switzerland. After 10:00 AM, no coffee was to be had at all.

Maybe these heinous acts would be more acceptable had the hotel at least left a yummy Swiss chocolate bar on the bed. But instead of 75% cacao, it was just 100% hotel hell.
