A Hotel That Has It All...Except Nice Rooms

Mallorca claims to have its own Garden of Eden in its Es Moli Hotel in the artist-y town of Deià. On first look, the hotel does in fact seem like a great place to get biblical, given the romantic atmosphere provided by the hotel's gardens, bamboo grove, lily pond and surrounding olive, palm, and orange trees.
The hotel, where just about every room comes with a terraced view, overlooks the beach of La Muleta and the cove within the cliffs is for guests' exclusive use. In addition to a heated pool that's filled with water from Es Moli Hotel's own spring, the grounds offer tennis courts, a 70-par golf course, snorkeling and guided walks through the nearby Tramuntana Mountains.
None of these activities are included, of course, but that's not what's keeping us from whole-heartedly recommending this hotel. No, what has turned us off is rooms that appear dated in décor and offer the dreaded feature of two beds pushed together to make one. What cheap-o first came up with that idea, anyway? Are they aware of how many perfectly good hotel rooms they've inadvertently ruined?
