Sheraton Ferncroft Resort: Only In a Blizzard
[Editor's Note: Publishing has commenced again, but as we warned earlier, this week may be a bit slow, aside from the big HotelChatter awards celebration on December 30.]

This hotel was both a godsend and a damning experience, all wrapped into one. The Sheraton Ferncroft Resort was first a godsend, because in the midst of the worst driving conditions New England has seen in many, many years (well, at least in our Trumpian opinion), it provided a safe haven for the weary snow-blind traveler. Ferncroft glowed like a beacon in the night through the fog, the snow, and the meteorologist's favorite, the dreaded wintry mix. For one night, the sight of Danvers, MA, and the lights of the Sheraton, seemed like seeing the lights of Vegas from outer space, or catching a glimpse of Mt. Rainer from Seattle. Don't worry, this morning it was back to plain ole' Danvers.

Where can you get a last minute hotel deal for the DNC in Boston next week?
Well, there aren't many rooms left in town, so our advice would be keep calling hotels, keep checking website. However, The Sheraton Ferncroft, which is 19 miles north of Boston, got left at the alter by some DNC go'ers.
Seems a bunch of DNC delegates backed out on the Danvers Sheraton at the last minute and the resort is slashing prices in hopes of filling the now empty July 26-29 rooms.
We were quoted $149 on the phone, which isn't a bad rate, but who knows you might even be able to get the resort down lower if you are shrewd, and your timing is right.
The path from Danvers into the FleetCenter will be brutal, but that is nothing new, and if you are looking for a room in Boston next week at this late day, you know your options are few and far between, so check out the Danvers Sheraton.
