Ski Hotels 2008: Faded But Fun at Cal Neva Resort

It may not be quite what it was in its hey day, but the Cal Neva Resort is still offering some reasonable ski packages. If you're not looking for five-star luxury, but instead would like to check out a place that used to be owned by Frank Sinatra, and perhaps sleep in a cabin once occupied by Marilyn Monroe--and get a bit of skiing in--then it's worth checking the Cal Neva.
At the moment they have a Ski the Lake package which starts at $119 per night. That base package is for a single person at the Diamond Peak incline; if you want to ski Northstar or Squaw Valley USA, add $20. More likely, you'll be interested in the $189 package for two people--that includes accommodation, two lift tickets and $10 food credit.
These deals are valid every day (except holidays) through until the end of March 2008. Just remember, don't expect some fancy place, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
