Florida hotels weather Frances, cash registers hit the hardest
Frances finally left Florida, after days of heavy winds, driving rains, and wild conditions caused most people to hunker down, or flee the area. While the storm did not cause nearly as much physical damage as Charley, Frances left her legacy in the form of duration (this was one long storm), and financial impact it will have on Florida.
While financial damages are yet to be tallied, the storm drove countless tourists home early, to hotels outside the state (as far north as Georgia), or to cancel their Florida vacation all together.
Pictured to the right is a photo of the Celebration Hotel in Celebration, FL (courtesy of The Disney Blog) in the aftermath of the storm. According to the Disney Blog, Celebration, and the Florida hotels in general, held up well to Frances strong winds, all things considered.
The Disney Blog also posted a bit of first hand video footage of Frances shot during the storm, just outside Diseny's Grand Floridian Resort.
