Room With a Killer View: Villa Francia Has Views, But ...

We are suckers for a room with a killer view.  We find that we are even more likely to forgive some minor hotel inconveniences if we can stare out the window at something pretty--yeah we are that shallow. Let's help out our fellow hotel mavens by uploading rooms with killer views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. We will feature our favorites in this space from time to time. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number of the hot view.

Here's a cautionary tale about a killer view. This one is from inside a room at the Pierre Vacances-Villa Francia in Cannes in the south of France. On the strength of this picture we'd be inclined to book ourselves straight in. You can even see the sea!

But after closer investigation, we're thinking maybe just enjoying the view is not enough. The Villa Francia is found at the top of a very steep hill, making coming and going a bit of a nightmare. Other previous guests have complained about things like lumpy pillows, unhelpful staff, small, cramped rooms and one guest even described it as just one step up from a prison. But at least it's a prison with a really nice view.
