Gypsy Living Makes a Comeback

Gypsy roulottes have become trendy hospitality accessories at many French country inns, and that is a good thing.

T & L's hotel issue documents the rise of Provenceal wagons, which in the good old days were inhabited by bohemians on the run, and these days go for about 95€ including breakfast.

One such caravan for hire is La roulotte de Mémé at Le Mas des Câpriers located at the foot of the Luberon, half an hour from Aix en Provence.  Far from Eurail stops and the Cannes craziness, the roulette here is complete with cement mushrooms, wooden stilts, and get this, free WiFi.

As far as we know mules won't drag away your wagon to a new, undisclosed, location as you sleep, but you never know. Provence is home to the most operational retro roulottes for rent in France. As usual, if you spend the night Gypsy style, photos and commentary would be appreciated.
