Secret Killington Stow Away

Yes, we know the Sierra Nevada is in the midst of record snowfall, we don't live under a rock, however, here in the Northeast we have to take advantage of passable ski conditions when we can. It is usually either frost bite weather, or the hill is dry as a bone, so when we see a photo like this up at Killington, and look out our window only to see rain (and temps in the 60s), we begin to machinate. Could this be the weekend to head up to the mountains? Temps forcasted in the low fourties tomorrow, brand new powder destined to be on the mountain, sounds like perfect riding weather to us.

If we could snag a room at the tiny Pond House Inn, our dream snow weekend would be complete. This little house is tucked away in the white hills of Vermont on ten private acres, just 14 miles from Woodstock VT. Moreover, Killington, and other resorts are just minutes away. The real reason to visit this little hide-away? Gretel, the owner. She will cook you your meals, and serve you French Toast, freshly brewed coffee, and, if you ask nicely, maybe even a cup of hot chocolate. Nothing like being fully taken care of while up at the mountain.

Life will be quiet, slow, desolate, and white, without taking drugs, which is always a bonus.
