It's not even April and yet we already have a pretty great guess at what 2009's buzzword will be: bailout. Everyone wants in on the free stuff action, and so it's no surprise that a whole packet of hotels have risen up to offer some "stress bailout incentives," taking their cue from the American Psychological Association's report that "eight out of ten people say the current state of the economy is a significant cause of stress."

From the CasaMagna Marriott Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta to Miami's Doral Golf Resort and Spa, hotels are chomping at the bit to both help you relax and spend a little cash. But only a little cash, as they're attempting to attract those budget-conscious folk most in need of a deep-tissue rub.

Another seasonal destination drumming up some off-season tourism is Cape Cod and more specifically the Ocean Edge Resort & Club. This resort is offering a De-Stressing family getaway, which sounds like an oxymoron but this hotel is determined to get moms and dads, brothers and sisters to get along.

Enticing kids to put down their PlayStations and parents their BlackBerries, Ocean Edge Resort & Club is offering a bevy of complimentary evening events February 17 - 25. Broods can determine who the brain of the family is with an intellectually stimulating game of Family Jeopardy. Junior can show mom and dad the latest dance moves with the interactive video game Dance Dance Revolution. And starting at 7:30 p.m. each night the resort will show a different kid-friendly blockbuster such as Cars and Over the Hedge.

But the family doesn't have to hang out the whole time. Kids can participate in a daytime arts and crafts program for an extra $15 and young adults can hang out in the "80s-style arcade game room" while parental units can soak in hot tubs or heated swimming pools. But parents be careful, you know what goes on in the arcade room, not to mention the hot tubs.

The rooms start at $119 a night and the available dates actually run from February 1 - 28.

Ghost-Hunting at the Ocean Edge Resort

We got another hotel to add to our Haunted Hotels list. The Ocean Edge Resort & Club claims to have a real ghost wondering their halls and if you book their "Spooky Mansion" package, they will even give you a flashlight to help look for Addie the Ghost.

Here's her backstory:

The original Nickerson Mansion, built in 1906 by Samuel Nickerson for his son Roland and his wife Addie, was burnt down in a great fire. The existing Victorian-style mansion, which is the centerpiece of Ocean Edge Resort & Club and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was re-built in 1912. However, Roland never got the chance to see this mansion, as he passed away just two weeks after the fire.  Addie moved into the expansive home upon its completion with nothing but the empty halls to roam. Legend has it that Addie's ghost still wanders the hallways, eternally heartbroken over the loss of her husband and desperately clinging to her Mansion.

The package will get you a chance to see Addie and along with your room you'll get daily breakfast for two, a jack-o-lantern of treats, complimentary late-night coffee and of course, the flashlight. If that's not enough, ask the front desk to use their Ouija board.

For $189 per night, fear not over whether or not you actually do find Addie as the rooms also have WiFi and movie channels and the resort has a fitness center, pools, and the surrounding activities of Cape Cod.

And if you do happent to find Addie, maybe its best if you keep that to yourself.

Picture of Addie post-click.
